Release 012

The twelfth (monthly) release of drift cards, part of our Hawaii Drift Card Study, was done on November 14, 2003. The following stick plot shows the wind conditions for the 7 days following that release, from November 14-20, 2003.

The winds following Release 012 were quite similar to the trade wind conditions that followed the summer Releases 005-009. (To compare these wind conditions to other releases, click a Release Number in the Wind Files navigation bar at the bottom of the page.) In general, the winds following Release 012 averaged 10-20 knots from an ENE or NE direction.
