Release 011

On October 10, 2003, 100 drift cards were released as Release 011, the eleventh monthly release of drift cards in our Hawaii Drift Card Study. The following stick plot shows the wind conditions for the 6 days following that release, from October 10-16, 2003.

The winds following Release 011 were quite similar to the trade wind conditions that followed the summer releases. (To compare the winds, click a Release Number in the navigation bar at the bottom of the page.) In general, the winds averaged 5-15 knots from a NE/ENE direction (20°-90°).
